Hello,

I am in grade 11 now and I am thinking of studying Japanese after I graduate but I cant seem to find an English taught program, so I guess I would have to do it in German if it is possible. One of my teachers suggested me this university and I decided to ask personally. Is it possible to study that even though my German is not that good and do I need a specific language level? I can understand most things but speaking is kind of a problem. I studied some Japanese in a VHS school in my city and of course it was in German but somehow I managed. I am also in the IB program, so I study in English and I am afraid if this could also be a problem.

Thank you for any information,
Raphy

Dear Raphy,

Since all bachelor programs at Universität Hamburg are taught in German language, you can only apply if you have sufficient German language skills. Proof of appropriate German language proficiency must be submitted by the beginning of the study at the latest.
