Hi,

I was wondering if we should get confirmation that the University has received payment of the semester fee, as I paid on Friday 14th August and would like to make sure that the University has got it.

Dear Chris,

Generally, there is no separate confirmation of the payment of the semester contribution at Universität Hamburg.

I assume that you are enrolled at Universität Hamburg for the first time in the winter semester 2020/21.

Once you have submitted all the documents required for enrollment (see the checklist in your letter of admission) and paid the semester contribution, we will issue the proof of enrollment ("Online-Semesterbescheinigung") in your STiNE account under Studying -> Documents after the enrollment process is completed.

You will also receive the semester documents (public transport pass, student ID) by mail if you have given us an address in Germany. If you have not given us a German address, you will not receive the semester documents, since Universität Hamburg only sends the semester documents to German addresses. In this case you have to contact us via the Campus-Center contact form as soon as you have a German address and we will send you the semester documents afterwards.

Can I just check - how long should it take after everything has been submitted before I receive the proof of enrolment ("Online-Semesterbescheinigung")? Sorry if I have missed this information elsewhere.

Dear Chris,

I cannot give an exact answer to this question, as this depends on the course of the entire enrollment process for the winter semester 2020/21. Since we have changed our enrollment procedures due to the coronavirus pandemic, we have no extensive experience with the new process yet.

I can only tell you that the enrollments for our new students are being processed continuously and we try to provide the proof of enrollment ("Online-Semesterbescheinigung") as soon as possible.
Please check your STiNE account from time to time under Studying -> Documents to see if your enrollment process has been completed and the proof of enrollment has already been provided to you.
