Enrollment - Msc Economics questions

Hello,

I have been admitted to the MSc Economics program for the Winter Semester 2026/27 and am currently preparing my enrollment.

Regarding health insurance: I have read that the notification from a public health insurance provider does not have to be received before the enrollment deadline, but that enrollment will not be fully completed until the university receives it. Could you clarify what the actual deadline is for this notification? Is there a specific date by which TK (or another provider) must have transmitted my insurance status to Universität Hamburg?

Additionally, as I am currently based outside Germany and will only relocate before the semester starts, would it be possible to have TK notify the university in advance without coverage — and therefore payments — beginning before October?

Hello Tomás,

The notification from a public health insurance provider has to be received at the latest in October (study beginning). Your final enrollment will be completed when the notification and the semester contribution have been received.. The semester certificate and the semester ticket (valid till the end of March) will be issued after your enrollment is completed.
