Dear Mr Egede,
The way you have to apply for medicine at Universität Hamburg depends on whether you are considered "equivalent" to German applicants. Applicants deemed "equivalent" to German applicants are:
• applicants with a German higher education entry qualification
• citizens of member countries in the European Union or Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway
• applicants who are not citizens of an EU country, Norway, Iceland or Liechtenstein but whose family members are and who are employed in Germany
If any of the above apply to you, you need to apply via "hochschulstart.de": http://www.hochschulstart.de You can find further information about this way to apply here: https://www.uni-hamburg.de/en/campuscen ... schulstart.html The application deadline at hochschulstart.de is May 31st of every year for applications for the winter semester, if you got you school leaving certificate before January 16th of the year of application, July 15th if you got it after that. Applications are possible for the winter semester only, since medicine does not start in the summer semester at Universität Hamburg.
If none of the above apply to you, you have to apply using Universität Hamburg’s online application portal: www.uni-hamburg.de/onlinebewerbung The application period for medicine runs from June 1st to July 15th of every year. After sending your online application you have to send your documents via regular mail to Universität Hamburg. Detailed information about how to apply for international applicants is provided here: https://www.uni-hamburg.de/en/campuscen ... luss.html If you apply to Universität Hamburg directly as an international applicant, you need to have your documents checked in a "preliminary documentation" procedure by uni-assist e. V. (University Application Service for International Students). uni-assist determines whether your previous educational qualifications permit you to start studying in your program of choice in Germany. Detailed information about this procedure is provided here: https://www.uni-hamburg.de/en/campuscen ... ldung.html
In any case, you need to provide proof of German language proficiency to be admitted. Detailed information about the level of German language proficiency required and about the certificates accepted by Universität Hamburg is provided here: https://www.uni-hamburg.de/en/campuscen ... nisse.html
As an international applicant from a non-EU country, you can improve the odds of getting a study place by collecting bonus points for your application. Information about that opportunity is provided here: https://www.uni-hamburg.de/en/campuscen ... ml#2907387 If you want to be admitted for medicine you need as many bonus points as possible.
Best regards,
