Befreiung vom Semesterticket

Good afternoon,

I have applied for a PhD at the university that has been acepted, the only thing I have left is to pay the 332 euros of the semester.
I live in Hamburg very close to my work and I never use public transport so I would like to not pay for the semester ticket, how can I do that? Is there any document I can fill for this subject? Thanks in advance,

please pay the full amount of the semester contribution and apply to the Studierendenwerk Hamburg for a refund of the semester ticket: https://www.studierendenwerk-hamburg.de ... erstattung

The application for the winter semester 2021/22 must be received by 30 September at the latest. This deadline is a cut-off date. This means that the application must be received by the Studierendenwerk by the end of the deadline at the latest. A refund for the summer semester 2021 is no longer possible.

Please note: With a few exceptions, the application must be submitted again each semester.

Thank you, although I got the admission recently and I have to pay for the Summer Semester, how is it not possible to refund for this semester as I didn't have the chance to do it earlier anyways?

Also, could I matriculate now for the Winter semester which maybe makes more sense, can I change the application once it has already been accepted? Thanks!

Dear Sara,

it is may be possible to transfer you to the winter semester - this ultimately depends on the period for your enrolment stated on your notification of admission. If there is a specific date by which you have to enrol at the latest and this falls in the summer semester of 2021, a transfer is not possible.
