Visa problem
Verfasst: Di 13. Jul 2021, 03:49
Good morning,
I was admitted to the Master's program in Politics, Economics and Philosophy for this winter semester. Since I was notified of admission I have been trying to get an appointment to obtain a student visa. However, due to the pandemic the embassy in my country (Colombia) is granting very few appointments. Last week, I finally got one, however, it was assigned for September 28th.
The embassy estimates that it takes 4 to 5 weeks after the appointment to give an answer on the visa approval. That means I could be arriving in Hamburg between the last week of October and the first week of November. I do not want to miss the opportunity to be part of this program so I would like to know if the university could help me to speed up the process in any way, either with the appointment at the embassy or in the response time after the appointment. Or what would you advise me to do given my situation.
I appreciate your understanding and all the help you can give me,
Felipe Molina
