Bearbeitet Master's request when foreign bachelor's degree
Good afternoon,

I graduated in Psychology by the Universidad Complutense de Madrid on September 2020, then I moved to Hamburg and I have been living here since then. I would really enjoy extending my stay here and continue developing as a professional Psychologist, there the reason why I wish to enroll the master's in Psychologie this University offers.

However, I have some doubts about the process I should follow in order to be able to do it:
- Do I need any kind of recognition of the bachelor's degree title because it was extended in another country?
- After checking the website, I have seen that it is fully taught in German. I have been taking lessons for months and currently I am learning the B1 level, and expecting to reach the B2 soon. To what extend could the language difficulties restrict my participation?
- Since I have never studied in Germany before, I do not know what kind of fees I would need to pay and what would be the approximate price of taking part in this course.
- How many places are offered and how are they allocated?

I would really appreciate any information. Thank you very much in advance!

Yes, you do. You will have to have your degree checked by the institute of psychology in order to apply: https://www.uni-hamburg.de/onTEAM/studi ... logie.pdf (see page 2 and 3)

Since the master program in psychology offered by Universität Hamburg is taught in German, you need to provide proof of German language proficiency to be admitted. Detailed information about the level of German language proficiency required and about the certificates accepted by Universität Hamburg is provided here: https://www.uni-hamburg.de/en/campuscen ... isse.html

The fee for studying in that program is the semester contribution which currently amounts to 335 Euro per semester. Further information about the semester contribution is provided here: https://www.uni-hamburg.de/en/campuscen ... rag.html Information about living costs and further expenses to be expected while studying in Hamburg can be found here: https://www.uni-hamburg.de/en/campusce ... anzen.html

For the winter semester 2021/22 there are 100 places offered. They are allocated according to a ranking which based on the grade of the bachelor degree and the grade of the higher education entrance eligibility. Each grade counts 50%.

Important note: If you want to apply for that program for the winter semester 2021/22, you will have to do that today, since the application period ends today. To apply, follow the steps described in the PDF file linked to above.
