Dear Sir/Madam,

Currently in India, the German student visa situation is extremely uncertain. As the consulates and embassy was closed from approximately March/April to mid-July due to the second wave of COVID-19, they are working with a huge backlog of applications and are slow in giving out appointments to students to apply for a visa.

I have yet to receive an appointment date to submit my documents for the visa, and after that it might take a month or so to actually receive it. Therefore, I might have to enroll late to the University of Hamburg.

As this is completely out of my hands and I'm unsure of what to do in this situation, is there any guidance/advice I could get in this matter? I really don't want to miss the opportunity to study at this university, and as my programme is an International Master in Physics, I cannot even apply for joining in the summer semester, as it only takes place in the winter semester.

Any help would be appreciated.

Any update on the visa? I have the same issue. I'm going for a Master's in Physics too. I have contacted the academic office and waiting for their reply. In case you've contacted them and got any reply could you please share it?
