Hi, my name is Omar, i just finished and graduated from the secondary school and wish to study in Germany, specifically in Hamburg, that has been my dream since I was little, so my question is, i wish to apply to computer science courses in the Hamburg university in English, is that possible? Note that i have successively passed the ILETS exams, my English is almost perfect. If not, and Germany is specifically required, can i somehow study it in Germany? Because I think that way i may learn German faster, and i really wish to not waste anymore of time, thank you in advance

Dear Omar Tayba,
1) Universität Hamburg offers first degree programs (i.e. all bachelor's and state examination programs) taught in German language only.
A prerequisite for the study of a degree program taught in German at Universität Hamburg is that you are proficient in German at level C1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. Therefore, an application for a degree program taught in German at Universität Hamburg cannot be successful at your current level of German language proficiency. The first step for you is therefore to improve your German skills. Detailed information about the level of German language proficiency required and about the certificates accepted by Universität Hamburg is provided here:
https://www.uni-hamburg.de/german-language.
Universität Hamburg does not offer any preparatory German courses. If you are planning to come to Germany in order to learn German, you can find information about that on the website of the DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service):
https://www.daad.de/en/study-and-resear ... -language/. The DAAD also provides a database of German courses offered throughout Germany:
https://www.daad.de/deutschland/studien ... rkurse/en/. Information on courses offered in Hamburg can be found via the following course portal:
http://hamburg.kursportal.info.
If you are planning to acquire the necessary German language skills in your home country or in other countries, you can find information about that on the Goethe-Institute's website:
https://www.goethe.de/en/spr/kup/kur/wwt.html.
2) General information for international prospective students can be found on our website:
https://www.uni-hamburg.de/en/campuscen ... ional.html.
Best wishes,
Thomas Walter
