German Language Requirement

Hello,

The requirements for Einschreibung in the MSc. Informatik course for the summer semester 2025 include German Proficiency certificate. I currently have B2 level certificate and have been attending German C1 level course which is completing in March. I have already registered for the telc C1 Hochschule exam which will take place on March 19th. The course application deadline, however, is 26th February.

My question here is that could I get admission based on my B2 level certification, and have the flexibility to submit the telc C1 certification once I receive it (it takes appx. 6 weeks so by end of April I'll receive the results)?

Please review the Enrollment Checklist which is linked in your admission letter.

Proof of German language skills must be submitted within the 7-day enrollment period, which starts on the day you receive your admission letter. The exact deadline is also stated in your admission letter.

Unfortunately, it is not possible to submit proof of German language skills after the enrollment deadline.

If you do not submit a valid proof of German language skills (www.uni-hamburg.de/german-language) within the 7-day enrollment period, you will not be able to enroll at University of Hamburg and your application for enrollment will be rejected.
