Hello,
I have recently submitted my application for the MSc Data Science and Artificial Intelligence program for the upcoming winter semester. As part of my application, I have provided an English language proficiency letter issued by my university, confirming that the medium of instruction for my entire degree program was English.
However, I would like to clarify whether this document is sufficient, as it does not explicitly mention the CEFR level (e.g., C1). I understand from your guidelines that the proficiency level may need to be clearly stated.
Could you please confirm whether the document I submitted will be accepted, or if I need to submit a revised letter that explicitly mentions my English proficiency corresponds to CEFR level C1?
Thank you very much for your assistance.
Dear Syeda,
According to the application information document a degree taught in English will generally not be accepted as proof of English language proficiency.
The accepted proofs are listed at https://www.uni-hamburg.de/onTEAM/studi ... igence.pdf
Best regards,
BK

Dear BK,
Thank you for your email.
I understand that a degree taught in English is generally not accepted as proof of English language proficiency. However, I noticed that one of the accepted proofs listed in the document is: “Attestation of a C1 English level provided by a course in your university or equivalent institution.”
In my case, my university can provide an official attestation confirming that my studies were conducted in English and that my proficiency corresponds to a C1 level. Would this be considered acceptable under the mentioned criteria?
Additionally, I have already submitted my application documents. If this attestation is acceptable, please let me know how I should submit it, whether by email or through the application portal.
Thank you for your support.
