To the Admissions Committee of the University of Hamburg,

I am writing to express my strong interest in joining and studying at the University of Hamburg's Bachelor of Medicine program. My name is Alzena, and I am from Indonesia.

I would like to pose several questions before proceeding. I hold a Bachelor of Laws degree from an Indonesian university. I understand that admission to medical school in Germany can be pursued through various pathways, with the primary route being through the Student Kolleg.

In light of my academic background, I would appreciate clarification on whether I can directly enroll in the Bachelor of Medicine program using my Bachelor's degree from an Indonesian university. Alternatively, must I start from the beginning and attend the Student Kolleg, or can I utilize my degree as a qualifying degree for direct entry?

Generally, you need have foreign education certificates recognized in order to apply to Universität Hamburg. The recognition will determine whether you can apply directly at an university or if you have to do Studienkolleg first. You can apply to have your certificates recognized for free in the Universität Hamburg application portal: www.stine.uni-hamburg.de

Thank you for the confirmation, Once I have obtained my foreign education recognition assessment results, am I required to take the TestAS as part of the application process for the medicine program?
