Subject: URGENT: Stine Account Technical Issue/Application Block - Can I use a "Name Order Hack" to meet deadline?

Hello,

I am an applicant for the MSc in Atmospheric Science, and today is my final deadline. I was admitted in 2025 but decided to waive my immatriculation in October due to an issue beyond my control. I was told I can only reply in 2026 since my 2025 admission could not be deferred to another semester.

Now the STiNE portal is blocking me from creating a new 2026 account, stating an account with my name already exists. Simultaneously, the login/password reset fails with an "Invalid Email" error.

Since time is running out, is it permissible for me to move my second given name to the middle name field, or temporarily swap my first and last names, just to bypass the duplicate-check and submit my documents?

I would then immediately inform Technical Support to correct the name order once the application is in the system.

Any urgent advice on whether this "hack" is acceptable for meeting the Fristwahrung (deadline) would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
Blaise Ringnwi Mbucksek

Hello Blaise,

You can do so but first we recommend to contact the RRZ at https://www.stine.uni-hamburg.de/script ... ,-Acontact to solve the access problem.

Best regards,
BK

Okay, understood. Thanks for replying.

I tried calling the technical support through their hotline, but to no avail. I have submitted a support form to the RRZ, but it is to my understanding that it will take some time for my request to be processed.

Sincerely,
Blaise
