Dear International Office,
My name is Gulzada Nurjanova. I am a graduate from Russia with degrees in World Economy and Foreign Economic Activity (FEA).
Currently, my German level is A0 (no formal knowledge). I would like to start my preparation for a Master’s program in Economics/International Business as soon as possible this year.
Could you please tell me:
Do you offer intensive German courses for beginners (A1–A2) for international applicants starting in the next few weeks or in the summer?
Is there a pathway with conditional admission to a Master’s program after completing the language course?
What is the approximate cost of the course, and are there any scholarships, fee reductions, or support for international students?
What documents are required to apply for the language course, and what are the deadlines for this year’s intake?
I am ready to dedicate a full year to intensive preparation without other commitments.
Thank you very much for your guidance.
Best regards,
Gulzada Nurjanova
Hello Gulzada Nurjanova,
Uni Hamburg does not provide preparatory German courses for prospective students. For German courses offered by other institutions in Hamburg, please visit the Hamburg course platform WISY (enter the desired language course level, e.g., B2). https://deutsch.kursportal.info/
For information on preparatory German language courses offered at German universities, please check the https://www2.daad.de/deutschland/studie ... splay=list of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD).
You can prepare for language exams even before your arrival in Hamburg. Many TestDaF centers worldwide offer a variety of preparatory courses, for example, the Goethe-Institut.
Please look also at the master's programs offered by Uni Hamburg. Maybe the program of your interest does not required specific German language certificate.
