I hope you are doing well.

I have a question regarding admission to your language courses.

If I am admitted to one of your language courses, for example the A2 course, and receive an admission letter which I use to apply for my German student visa, would it be possible to be placed into a higher language level before my visa interview if my German improves?

The reason I am asking is that visa processing in my country usually takes around 7–8 months. During this time, I plan to continue studying German. If I successfully reach the B1 level before my visa interview, would it be possible to take another placement test and, if my language skills are sufficient, be enrolled directly in the B1 course instead of the A2 course?

If this is possible, could my admission letter be updated to reflect the higher language course so that I can submit the updated admission letter to the German Embassy?

Uni Hamburg does not provide preparatory German courses for prospective students. For German courses offered by other institutions in Hamburg, please visit the Hamburg course platform WISY (enter the desired language course level, e.g., B2). https://deutsch.kursportal.info/

For information on preparatory German language courses offered at German universities, please check the https://www2.daad.de/deutschland/studie ... splay=list of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD).
You can prepare for language exams even before your arrival in Hamburg. Many TestDaF centers worldwide offer a variety of preparatory courses, for example, the Goethe-Institut.

I have a few additional questions regarding your Studienkolleg.

Do you offer an M-Kurs? If so, what is the minimum German language level required for admission?

I would also like to ask whether it is possible to apply without a German language certificate at the time of application. I am currently learning German and expect to obtain the required Goethe certificate before traveling to Germany.

The reason I am asking is that I need an admission letter in order to start my visa application. Since the visa process in my country usually takes several months, I would be able to submit the required Goethe certificate before my visa interview and before arriving in Germany.

Would this be possible?
