proof of enrolment

Dear all,

My name is Samanyu Sanjay and I was admitted to the MSc program in mathematics at the university in March 2018, but I was unable to come to Hamburg in time to commence my studies there in the summer semester of 2018 so, I will be coming in the winter semester 2018. I have paid the semester contribution for the summer semester 2018 but as I did not have a permanent German address the semester documents were not sent to me in my home country. I have been given a place to a private student residence hall starting in the coming winter semester of 2018 but they said that in order for them to give me the rental agreement I need to provide them with my proof of enrolment or some other written conformation from the university that I am enrolled here. So, would it be possible for me to get that? If so, what is the procedure?

Dear Samanyu,

for final enrollment it is mandatory to submit all required documents and pay the semester contribution.
Only if you did that AND have a German address, you can get a enrollment certification.
As German address, you could also use the address of a friend or the program coordinator if he/she allows it.

Another confirmation of enrollment is only possible for visa.

Dear Antje,

Thank you for your reply. I have paid the semester contribution and I have submitted all the required documents except the proof of health insurance and this is only because I am not in Germany yet and so, I cannot get German health insurance; I spoke to the campus centre about it and they said that I can submit that after I get to Germany. Can I still get a proof of enrolment? I do have a friend in Germany who can collect it.
