Hello! I'm currently enrolling in a Master Program in Mathematical Physics. I have a job as an independent contractor in an Online Academy currently, which has its HQ in the USA. It is my wish to continue working for this academy during my studies in Germany, however, I don't know if this is in conflict with the number of hours that I can work in there as a student, or if the working hours in Germany don't apply to that kind of jobs.

From the perspective of the university there is no limit to the amount you may work while studying, so we are fine with any amount of work you do for your online job. If, however, you are in Germany on an student visa, there are regulations regarding the amount of work allowed for international students. So in this case please read about the regulations here: https://www.uni-hamburg.de/en/campuscen ... ermits.pdf (chapter 3.2) and consult the foreigners authority if that brochure does not answer your question.
