Dear University of Hamburg,
I am Luis Murillo (Application number: 1309449) and I have been accepted to the Master program of Political Science, Economics, and Philosophy (PEP). I have several questions about the enrollment process.
My questions are:
1. Can I accept my place in the program before completing the entire enrollment application? I want to accept my place as soon as possible but I am still waiting for my former University to mail me my final official transcript (I do not want to jeopardize my place in the program).
2. In order to complete the student visa form, the application ask for the address where I am going to stay in Germany. I just got accepted and do not know where exactly I will live at. What recommendations do you have in answering this question?
3. Also concerning the completion of the student visa form, I need to show proof of health insurance. I am interested in the provision health insurance and once I arrive in Hamburg, I can get a long-term health insurance plan. What provisional health insurance would you recommend?
Dear Mr Murillo,
1. Please complete the enrollment application as soon as possible and send it to Universität Hamburg. Your enrollment is only jeopardized if the application does not reach us by the deadline indicated in your admission letter. Nothing you indicate in the application form can jeopardize your enrollment, so please do not wait for the transcript. You can correct information later.
2. We cannot help you regarding the student visa form. Please ask the institution you got the visa form from. In the enrollment form you put the address where you live now if you do not have a German address yet. You can change the address later.
3. We do not have recommendations regarding provisional health insurance. If you need help in choosing insurance, the Studierendenwerk Hamburg offers advice on that: https://www.studierendenwerk-hamburg.de ... tung/BeSI/
You do not need to send proof of provisional insurance to Universität Hamburg with your enrollment application if you are not in Germany yet. For enrollment it suffices if you provide us with proof of your final insurance after you arrive in Germany.
Best regards,
Birte Schelling
