I am a master student, V semester, I have finished all my exams except my master thesis. I will be in Hamburg very rarely in the following semester and I don't need the HVV semester ticket because I am using a bike.
Can I pay all the costs except the semester ticket and what is the procedure on this given that I am not in Hamburg at the moment.

Dear Phili,
You have to pay the semester contribution as a whole first to be re-enrolled for the semester, so you cannot just pay the semester contribution minus the amount used to pay for the semester ticket.
However, if you don't have any use for the ticket, since you won't be in Hamburg during your last semester, you can apply to have the part of the semester contribution used to pay for the ticket refunded. You apply for this at the Studierendenwerk Hamburg.

Thank you for your answer, I have downloaded the "Semesterticket Antrag".
Is it possible for student service to send me my semester ticket to the address different than the one I am register on? Can you send it to a different address in Germany (or in Hamburg) so that I can organize someone to send it back upon receiving in order to get my refund?

Unfortunately that is not possible without difficulties for technical reasons, since the documents are printed and sent in one step. You could ask the Team Studierendenangelegenheiten via contact form to change your address in the university registering system. Then your documents will be sent to a different address, but that address will then also be the address on your documents. If you don't want that, your only possibility is to get someone to retrieve the documents from your original address.
