Hello,
My name is Akshay Patil and I recently got admitted to Masters program for winter session 2018/19.
I received a Matriculation Application/ Enrollment form which I have to submit by 23rd May 2018. There is a section for proof of Health Insurance and I don't have any Insurance and currently I am in India and I cannot conclude a valid Health Insurance until my arrival in Germany. I am getting covered under private travel insurance for visa purpose but I cannot use that for enrollment, but after my arrival in Germany I will get insured by Techniker Krankenkasse.
On the website of the University it was mentioned that “International students, who are currently living abroad and do not yet have valid health insurance in Germany, will need to submit proof of health insurance following arrival in Germany.” So can I leave the "Proof of Health Insurance" Section BLANK while filling the form and submit the Insurance proof when I arrive in Germany. Will it in any way lead to cancellation of my Admission?
Thank you for Time and Consideration,
Yours sincerely,
Akshay Patil
Dear Mr Akshay,
You can leave the section on insurance blank - this won't affect your admission. Just make sure that you get insurance as soon as you arrive in Germany, since you need to hand in proof of insurance to be enrolled and to get your semester documents.
