Bearbeitet Regarding masters Physics application
Hi, I have few doubts regarding the application:

1. I have seen that Non EU students should get VPD from Uni-assist, but sadly, I will not be able to get VPD by 31st March. So, will it be okay if I submit the documents without the VPD, and if that's possible what documents should I submit instead of VPD?

2. And, also, in the Physics program description pdf, it's mentioned that after I fill the online form, I have to send an electronic mail with all the required documents to studentkoordination; but while filling the online form, I came across this -"By using the feature "Submit" you submit your data electronically to Hamburg University. Please note that this is not sufficient to complete the application process. You also have to send your completed, printed application form along with the requested certificates prior to the application deadline by regular mail".
So, do I have to post the hard copies or would the digital submission be sufficient for Physics?

3. Is it possible to apply for two programs - Physics and Mathematical Physics?

4. I have done Bachelors of Technology in my undergrad, may I know it's equivalent in German? Because I can't find this option in the 'degree' choice. Do I have to choose Bachelor an Universitäten or Bachelor of Science? or Erststudium sonstiger Abschluss in Deutschland?
Re: Regarding masters Physics application
Dear Greesh,

1. It is ok to submit your application without the VPD. Your application will be considered without it, but since the grade of your higher education entrance eligibility may play a minor role in the selection process, your chances of admission will be slightly reduced without it. For further information on that please read the section on selection criteria in the following information sheet: https://www.uni-hamburg.de/onTEAM/studi ... sics-e.pdf

2. The submission of your documents via email is sufficient. The information you found in the online application is outdated - we are sorry for that and will remove it.

3. That is not possible - only one application at a time is allowed.

4. The entries you make in that part of the form only serve statistical purposes - admission will not be based on them, but only on the documents you submit. Therefore just answer the questions as well as you can - it will not matter what you choose there.

Re: Regarding masters Physics application
Dear Greesh,

Regarding your third question there is an option I forgot to mention to you yesterday: You will be notified as to whether you could be admitted to the program in physics before the application deadline for the program in mathematical physics. Therefore, if your application for physics is rejected, you can withdraw that application and start a new one for mathematical physics in time. To withdraw your application in that case, you need to write us using this contact form: https://www.uni-hamburg.de/kontakt-cc
