Bearbeitet English as a World Language (Questions regarding the visa rejection)
To whom it may concern,

My name is Dorsa Esfandiari, and I am a masters student in the major 'English as a World Language' for summer semester 2023.

Unfortunately,my request for the student visa was rejected by the embassy in Iran, because of a new rule that was not made when I have done my appointment for the visa request in the embassy; Naturally I am not able to attend the courses that I have registered for in the near future.

Could you please inform me, if I have to apply again for the new winter semester again, or since I have registered completely, and also paid the semester fee, will I receive an acceptance letter for the winter semester as well?

In case of applying again for this course, is the beginning of the application period the first of June? And is there any possibility that I could be informed earlier than 23th of August regarding my acceptance or rejection if I apply as soon as possible and on the first of June?
My student number : 7701032

Thank you for your attention.

Sincerely yours,
Dorsa Esfandiari

Re: English as a World Language (Questions regarding the visa rejection)
Dear Dorsa Esfandiari,

I suggest that you contact your department as a first step and discuss how you can continue your studies remotely in the summer semester. Courses may be offered online that you can attend.

De-registration and renewed application for the degree program should only be an emergency solution, but it is possible in principle. You would have to submit a new application between June 1st and July 15th.

However, you would have to exmatriculate first. You will no longer get your money back in full, but only in part. Which is why I recommend finding a solution with your department.
If you do that, you can simply re-register for the winter semester 2023/24 by paying the semester contribution.
