Inquiry About Early Application Possibility for the Master’s Program in Bioinformatics

I hope this message finds you well.

My name is Abir Moumene, and I am currently in the third semester of my Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science at the University of Oran 1 – Ahmed Ben Bella in Algeria. I am very interested in applying for the Master’s program in Bioinformatics at your university.

In Algeria, the student visa process can take up to one year, which makes early preparation essential. However, the application period for most programs ends right after I complete my fourth semester, that is, before I begin my fifth.

I am planning to apply for the winter semester of 2027/2028, when the application period opens this coming summer. This would allow me to apply for my visa while completing my fifth and sixth semesters, so that I can begin my Master’s studies on time without losing a full year after graduation.

For this reason, I would like to ask whether it is possible to apply at the end of my fourth semester, even though I will still be completing my Bachelor’s degree at that time. If such early or conditional applications are accepted, I would be grateful if you could inform me about the requirements and documents needed for consideration.

Additionally, I am currently learning German and have at least a B2 level of English. I am also scheduled to take the IELTS exam on November 22 to provide an official English proficiency certificate.

Lastly, I would like to ask whether your university offers any scholarships or financial aid opportunities for international students in the field of Bioinformatics. If so, I would greatly appreciate any information or guidance regarding eligibility and the application process.

1) The application period with study start in winter semester 27/28 is between May 1 to June 15 in 2027. Earlier applications are not possible.

2) Since the program is taught in German language you need to submit certificate of German language proficiency with level C1 at time of enrollment.
