I am an international student applying for the MSc Physics program at the University of Hamburg.
While filling out the application, the “Final grade” field continuously shows the error: “Please correct these entries.”
As an international student, I understand that I need to enter 9.9 in this field. However, despite multiple attempts, the error persists, and I am unable to complete and submit my application.
Could you kindly take a look and advise me on the correct value to enter? Otherwise, I believe this might be a technical issue.
I appreciate your assistance and look forward to your response.
Hello,
please use the german decimal system - we use "9,9" (comma) instead of 9.9. If you use the STINE portal in our official English version (switch to English on the upper right), it will show the correct format. The online translations, however, also translate the format into the international (English) version which can not be processed by our system.

Thank you for your response. The “9.9” trick worked well.
I have one more question. I am applying for a Master’s in Physics as an international student. On the application portal, it specifically requires “proof of the conversion of your final grade” and recommends obtaining it from www.uni-assist.de
I would like to confirm whether it is mandatory to obtain a VPD from uni-assist for this program. Or will Universität Hamburg evaluate my degree independently? If the university evaluates it directly, would not submitting a VPD negatively impact my application?
I also searched for Universität Hamburg on uni-assist but could not find any option indicating that your university issues a VPD through uni-assist. I am currently confused between the STiNE portal, the Hamburg website information, and uni-assist. I would be grateful if you could kindly clarify this matter.
Kind regards,
Mohsin Roshaan

Dear Mohsin Roshaan,
there is no need for a VPD by uni assist - Universität Hamburg does offer its own recognition procedure (see: www.uni-hamburg.de/assist ). For most of the Master degree programs, the evaluation/recognition is part of the application process and doesn't have to be applied for separately. You will find all relevant information in the official application information: https://www.uni-hamburg.de/onTEAM/studi ... hysics.pdf (page 2)

"If you obtained your first degree abroad, your certificate will be reviewed during the application
procedure in the faculty of your program.
If your degree certificate is not in English or German, please include a copy of a certified English or
German translation of the certificate with your application documents"
