Official letter of student budgets

Good day

I am enrolling at the university as a Free Mover for the summer semester. I am applying for funding in my home country to finance my stay.

I have seen on the Fees and Funding page the estimates given for (1) semester fee (2) student insurance and (3) living expenses. My funding application requires an official letter from my host university quoting these local subsistence costs.

When can I get this from? I asked the International students office and they declined to help me.

accommodation is something each student has to organize themselves, so it is not centrally managed by the university. Therefore, Universität Hamburg does not provide official letters regarding the costs. For more information about finding accommodation, please see:

As for the price of the student insurance, you can contact an insurance company and they will usually write you an official letter regarding the costs. You can find more information about finding health insurance at the Studierendenwerk Hamburg
